 Lumbar support pillow for gaming chairs

Most gaming chairs already come padded in certain strategic areas along the back of the chair. However, after hours upon hours of use, those areas may go flat thus making the gaming experience a considerably less comfortable one.

Because of that, I leave the choice of lumbar pillow to you. If your chair has gone flat only in the lower back area, I would recommend a compact cushion (see “Lumbar pillow for Office Chairs”). 2. How to use a lumbar pillow?

Using a lumbar support pillow is super easy. You just need to install it on your chair’s backrest using the adjustable straps that come with the cushion. Position the pillow so it fits snugly against your lower back, filling the natural curve of your spine. Make sure it is at the right height to provide optimal support. 3. Where to put a lumbar support pillow?

4. About memory foam

Memory foam is one of the main materials used in lumbar support pillows (actually, it’s the only material used in the pillows we have recommended). That’s because of its unique softness and comfort.

However, it does have certain idiosyncrasies. The most interesting one is its reaction to temperature:

• When it’s cold, memory foam tends to get harder; and
• when it’s hot, it gets softer and may flatten more easily.

Because of that temperature sensitivity, pillows made of memory foam must be coupled with a breathable cover that can be taken off and washed.

5. About a comfortable design

It seems like a no-brainer, but the ergonomic design is a must when it comes to comfort. A square lump of the softest memory foam in the world would in no way be as comfortable in the long run as a nicely shaped pillow.
